New Editorial Team
Drs. Cayte Anderson (UW-Stout) and Andrea Nerlich (Hofstra University) have taken over as editors of RCEJ. We'd like to extend the thanks of the entire RCEA community to Drs. Shane Koch and Ray Feroz for serving as the RCEJ editor team for many years. |
Open Access
RCEJ is moving to an online, fully Open Access format that will be indexed with Crossref for inclusion in Google Scholar and other venues. In doing this, we endeavor to increase the access of other disciplines to RC/RCE scholarship. This was also done for cost effectiveness and to reduce environmental impact. |
More RCEJ for you! Our goal is to increase the number of issues for each year. With the online platform, we will be able to offer advanced online publication, but we are also not constrained by the typical page guidelines of other publishers. We are currently slated to produce 3 issues for 2021, with the first issue (highlighting the various types of submissions) projected for April. |
Submission Opportunities
The type and scope of submissions have been expanded to balance both the practical and empirical, as well as focus on both rehabilitation counseling and rehabilitation education. We aim to be inclusive of a broader talent pool for submissions in providing a venue where academics, practitioners, consumers, and students can have a voice in shaping the field.
The following submissions will undergo a blind double peer-review process:
Topical Manuscripts: empirical, systematic review, and conceptual articles
Field-initiated Projects: descriptive articles on current initiatives
Policy/Legislative Review: systematic analysis of the implications of current, proposed, or needed policy
The following submissions will undergo a blind single peer-review process:
Commentary & Discourse Forum: topics of contemporary interest to promote discussion and debate
Research & Best Practice Briefs: short, responsive reports of interim research and digests of broader project findings
Pedagogy Knowledge Forum: descriptive articles on teaching, collaboration, and course development
The following submissions will undergo an editorial review process:
Book and Media Reviews: reviews of books, media, software, and other materials relevant to readers
Letters to the Editor: forum for feedback from readers
